Have you ever wondered how a painting is developed? This short video clip will give you an idea how the watercolor develops from sketch to final painting. 

Come into my studio and watch the watercolor painting emerge.  This one features a Black-throated Green Warbler in a Tulip Poplar Tree. 

As a very young girl I first discovered Passion Flowers growing on a vine in a ditch. The flowers were unlike any I had seen before and I was amazed at the dark green fist-sized fruit. Hummingbirds love the sweet nectar of the blossoms. Other birds feast on the nutrient rich seeds of the fruit. Come into my studio and watch the painting emerge. 

Many songbirds such as cardinals, mockingbirds and purple finches love the deep purple berries of the American Pokeweed. It is a fast growing perennial native to North America.  The early green shoots were once harvested as "poke sallet" but require multiple changes of boiling water to remove the toxins of the poisonous plant.
